Thankful

It's Thanksgiving and a good time to stop and reflect on the things that I'm grateful for. It's so easy to get caught up in improving my performance that I can forget how lucky I am that I simply have the ability to move my arms and legs in a way that equate to swimming, biking and running. The mere fact that I'm able is something to never take for granted.  One of my goals for the coming season is to be much more mindful. I tend to look beyond the moment instead of experiencing what is going on at hand. Sometimes, blanking out the pain and the boredom is preferable, but the pain and the boredom is part and parcel to endurance sports training. Embrace the moments and embrace the experience!
